Getting stuck into a treacle tart may be a good thing but being in a less enjoyable sticky and messy place which is sapping your energy is something else entirely!
You could be stuck in treacle if you’re:
- Feeling flat or bored in life or work
- Struggling to see your way out of a situation
- Trying to do something but not sure how to make it happen
- Having dreams but doing nothing about achieving them
- Procrastinating
- In a cycle of behaviour that you can’t seem to break out of
Is it all so big that you don’t know where to start?
You may have searched the internet to find all sorts of self-help tools to help you to break out of your particular treacle place but perhaps need something more to nudge you forward in the direction that is right for you.
If you are really ready for change then investing in a life/personal development coach can help you to wade through and break out of that treacle that is holding you down.
Recently a client came to me when they were firmly in that rut. Our early sessions focused on delving inside and figuring out where they were at the time, what they really wanted to have happen in their lives and what they could do to make that change happen.
We went on to work out what was truly important to them (not everyone else) and what was holding them back. They expanded their awareness of what was possible and together we explored alternative solutions before they recognised the direction that was really right for them – which was not where they thought they were heading initially – an aha moment!
It is going to take time and commitment but they have broken their goals down into manageable chunks and have taken that first step, the one that is hardest to take. With continued support and accountability, they are now firmly ‘unstuck‘ and committed to travelling forward in a direction that they know is right for them.
So, if you are really ready to become unstuck, don’t feel you have to go it alone. Share your journey with someone who will help you to get out of the sticky place, encourage you to commit and keep you accountable for achieving your goals.
